Emmas Birthday

Our grand daughter, Emma, turned three on Saturday.
For a couple of hours our house was bursting with family.
Emma's grandma and grandpa Dangerfield, from Arizona, were in Utah so they came too.
Emma was so happy.

This is just crazy!

These pictures speak for themselves. The amount of snow we are getting this year is just crazy.

Be sure to see the post prior to this one for Sarah's birthday party and other fun news.

Sarah's birthday and other fun

Yesterday Sarah turned 19 years old. I really can't believe the baby of the family is this old already!
Her gifts included a nice check from Grandma and Grandpa Smith. Lotions from Bath and Body Works. A candle and a small lotion picked out and purchased by her 3 year old niece; Emma.
A new IKEA end table shopped for and Selected by her brother in law and sister (Ben and Sue). Her mom and dad contributed to the purchase.
She also recieved a promised shopping trip to the mall for a little clothing.
Her sister Susan cooked a yummy dinner; a pasta dish and extremely good salad. She also baked a very special birthday cake (very rich and decadent).

In the afternoon the gals in the family (Me, Sarah, Susan, Emma and Rebecca) were with grandma and grandpa Smith in their great Salt Lake City home for lunch and a visit.
We were encouraged to try on an amazing Indian headress that they own. This created a good photo opportunity.

Last Friday, Susan hosted a cute Chinese New Year party. Her brother in law, Peter, and his wife, Lacy, came up from Provo to join us.
Susan's dad brought home a huge bag of Chinese food. Sue made Red paper lanterns to hang in the kitchen. She also put coins in little red envelopes for Emma to search for around the house. Susan was so clever. She wrote Chinese characters on each envelope. She also went to great lengths to find a children's book on the subject to help her kids learn about this foreign holiday.

Thank you Susan for your efforts and for creating enjoyable family gatherings.
