It's 94 degrees today and we went hiking. We climbed Lambs Canyon trail.
There are several springs that feed into it. There are lots of wildflowers and acres of berry bushes.
The trail was all 'up'. It's called an out and back hike, but I think it should be called an up and down hike.
Most of the trail had plants close on each side, like this:
Top of the trail.
We had lunch and looked at the view:
We found wild Peas up there! This is on an 8,100 foot pass!
Back down into the jungle:
I saw a huge moose cross the stream.
Thimble berry bushes and other stuff:
This was a unique and pretty canyon, but so very steep!
The End.

Enjoying The Flowers
When Joe got home from work we drove to Albion Basin to see the wildflowers.
It's at least 90 degrees outside.
We found an interesting path to follow:
I feel very at home in the mountains:
We found some pretty fields of flowers:
I'm getting a little better at identifying flowers.. I saw Lobelia, Mountain Bluebells, Columbine, Black eyed Susan, False Soloman Seal and Cow Parsnip.

Hogle Zoo On Pioneer Day
Today is Pioneer Day in Utah.
We could have gone to the parade downtown, but the zoo got more votes.
My grandkids sat on the wall looking at zoo maps:
At the bird show:
Feeding ducks:
Petting a snake:
Train ride:
Oh, and yes there were animals at the zoo:
Moose in the canyon last night.
Sue and her family are headed home in the morning. It's been a quick visit, but we did quite a lot.

Surprise Visitors!
On Friday night Sue made a surprise visit with her kids (Joe and Sarah were in on it).
I innocently came into the house and out they popped!!
Sue was clever and hid her van down the street, so I wouldn't be tipped off.
This will go down in history as the most surprised I've ever been!!
By the next morning we had made some activity plans.
We went to the Draper Days parade.
Brother and sister:
Claire:
Popsicles (It was about 90 degress outside):
After the parade, Joe and Aaron had to leave.
Susan and I took the kids to the park where there were activities and booths.
Parrots:
Snake!
The kids could pet and comb ponies:
Free pony rides.
Emma:
Jacob rode too!:
Becca:
The mommy:
Playground:
Trained pony show.
They are used in movies;
Sit;
Emma with rodeo queens:
Becca :
Nope!:
Becca was nervous about the pony, but eager to pet a snake (go figure):
We only did about half of what was available, but the kids were getting hot and tired.
Much later we all went to a splash park (Joe, me, Sue, kids, Sarah, Aaron and girlfriend)
So, that's my report for Saturday.

Wildflowers
I went on this little afternoon outing by myself. I have limited access to a car and make the most of it when it's here.
The weather was closing in fast, but I got a few pictures of some of the wildflowers. It was a good chance to use my new birthday camera.
Ominous clouds:
Indian Paintbrush:
High mountain bluebells:
Bluebells:
Columbine:
Lupine, etc..:
Streambank Groundsel:
Near start of Cecret Lake Trail:
