Pipeline Trail

Today Joe and I went for a walk on the Pipeline trail. It started in Millcreek Canyon. First we climbed up and through Rattlesnake Gulch. That brought us to a place where we could go right or left. We chose to go Left. That took us to a place where we could view the city.

Olympus Mountain:

Looking down into my brother Bradly's neighborhood in Millcreek (Hi Brad):

I've tried to ID some of the flowers. I may be coming back to correct things.

Penstemon:

Groundsell:

Marsh Skullcap:

Leafy Arnica:

We also explored East for a little way. This is where we turned around:

Joe said that we walked about 8 miles. I would say the negatives of this trail are; it's sort of hot and dry and the mountain bikers like it a lot. We stepped aside for lots and lots of bikes.
The positives are the upper trail is completely flat and the views of the city are good.

After our walk, we found a stream and I gladly stuck my feet in. Joe got the camera out of my pack and took pictures:

Aaah! The water is so cold, but good on tired feet:

Sometime soon, we hope to go up the Red Pines trail. There are two lakes along the way and the daring can climb to the Pfieferhorn.

What a great hike mom! I bet wading in the creek felt great after hiking for so long.
