Baby Claire woke up sick, so we stayed home today.
Also, 3 year old Jacob needed a nap, since we had kept him so busy yesterday.
I was so surprised when my washing machine shook loose from it's drain pipe and the water started a mad rush across the floor into my kitchen!
The washers problem was a very simple fix (thank goodness).
So, to sum up my day: Cooking, cleaning, laundry, entertaining, a sick baby and a little washing machine disaster.
Emma and Becca planted Petunias for me.
Then they took turns watering:
Their grandpa is still at work, but he is taking kids to the park this evening, while I stick around the house with the baby.

Tending, Day 2
It's day two with the four grand-children and we are having fun.
We drove to Farmington Pond and practiced some fishing skills.
Their grandpa contributed a couple of new poles to the cause.
Jacob with his Spider-man pole.
Emmas pole came all the way from Arizona with them. She got to use a hook.
She had two very close calls with a fish:
.
Becca used a Barbie pole with a plastic fish on the end too.
She learned to cast and reel.
This big smile was from nearly catching a fish:
Picnic:
We went for an epic walk on the Farmington Creek Trail.
It's paved for two miles and it's level.
First we had to get past all the Geese:
It's more fun to walk in the grass than to stay on the trail:
I think we sat on every single bench:
Buffalo:
Our great-great Grandpa's memorial (Ezra T. Clark):
Leave it to the grandpa to put his grand kids in a tree.
On our return, the Geese were still there:
The kids walked far. Even so, they wanted to fish more because we saw the pond getting stocked.
Grandpa helped the kids fish for about 30 more minutes while I stayed with baby Claire.
I parked her stroller under a big shade tree.
On the way home we drove through a Wendys and got a little food.
At home we had ice cream, baths and then off to bed. Everyone was down by 7:30.
Claire was down much sooner.

Tending The Grand kids
We get to tend the grand kids this week.
Here are the highlights from day one.
After breakfast and bath:
We made pine cone bird feeders:
We hung them in the tree.
Within a short time we got a blue jay, a starling and a chickadee:
Later in the day we went to 'Jump Around Utah.
Emma:
At home we ate chicken nuggets, grapes and milk. Then we had ice cream.

Ladies Day Out
This morning I went with three lady friends to tour Utah Truffles. We were invited by the owner, Mr. Cavanaugh. We met him while doing some church work.
We had a nice visit with him and had a tour.
Dellanne and me.
We have known each other for 38 years now:

Mothers Day
It's Mothers Day.
Yesterday (Saturday) Joe and I chose a place for a Mothers day picnic:
We dubbed our spot 'Picnic Rock'.
Mothers day sort of went like this:
1. Breakfast in bed (Watermellon balls, juice and toast)
2. Church
3. Picnic with the family
After church, we gathered in the kitchen and packed individual sack lunches with sandwiches and chips. We had our water and Joe hauled a whole tub of potato salad.
Sarah baked some awesome chocolate chip cookies for me and back at the house we had cold watermellon.
Aaron brought his girlfriend (Stefanie) along:
These next pics are just silly. Aaron took them:
The old couple (Or is that The Odd Couple?)
Watching crawly things under a rock:
Sitting by the river:
We went to the Quarry park.
Aaron pulled me up on this big rock.
I was just as happy to get back down:
Everyone else made getting up on that thing look easy:
On these special days we always miss our oldest daughter; Susan (Sigh..)
Fortunately she will be here soon with her family for another visit. Hooray!
Silly me. I just had to sit in this tree.
I have to admit that I ended up sitting on a knot. Not comfy:
I just want to say that it has been a joy to raise my little family. They are all very good people.
I also have four fantastic little grand children! Lucky me!!
Oh yes, my gift was 12 new bath towels (because that's what I asked for). Thanks everyone.

Aarons 27th Birthday
Today Aaron turned 27. It hardly seems possible.
Joe, Sarah and I drove down to Provo and took him out to dinner. He chose Thai food at a place called the Bombay.
Then we found a Sub Zero and stuffed ourselves on ice-cream.
Happy Birthday Aaron!!!
